To be honest, this article should be subtitled ‘letting go of perfection’… I’m embarrassed at how long it took me to finish this article, most notably my videos, in my inherent need to get it perfect. I live in an otherwise quiet house UNTIL OF COURSE I have a video to produce!
But I digress…
In my WordPress group, I take requests and I’ve recently been asked how one would make a ‘Color Challenge’ template for their Stampin’ Up! blog.
I’ve been toying with recommendations of photo editors and settled on Photoshop Elements. You can see my article about Photoshop Elements and how to edit a photo for the web. Also in that article, there is a second video about some ‘settings’ that will improve on performance as well.
Today I’m sharing a basic Color Challenge template (finished sample shown left).
CLICK here to download the .psd file. You can edit this file with both Photoshop Elements & Photoshop CC.
This template is ready for 5, 4, or 3 colors in the challenge. The first video below will walk you through how to edit this. It’s a really good idea to watch the video.
I’ve also made a second video that shows how to make your own template from scratch. You can click here to download the square color challenge template that I made in the sample video. I realized after I made it, you might prefer that template!
Remember to join my Facebook community where we talk WordPress and everything associated with it… including things like image editing! I take requests and make quick videos or I deem it worthy for an article (such as this request).
To get your own copy of Photoshop Elements, consider the downloadable version of Photoshop Elements from Amazon–but be sure to click on Windows version or Mac, as the link is to the Windows version. And one big bonus of buying the downloadable version is always being able to download it from Amazon in the future if you change/upgrade computers.

The blank ‘square’ template created in this tutorial is available for download above as well!
