New Tutorials

I have created two new tutorials! For future reference, they are on my links bar under "Flash Tutorials". The first one is posting a blog entry and adding a photo (click here). This was created for the 2.3 series of WordPress and with the FCKeditor plug in activated… this is a fabulous plug in (see my Plug In list on my sidebar).

All new blogs I am creating will automatically include FCKeditor and some other cool plug-ins for your blogging ease! If you are blogging with 2.2 series or less, contact me for an upgrade (at which time I will include my favorite plug-ins added as well!). The 2.3 series of WordPress is terrific and also fixes security issues in the 2.2 and previous editions of WordPress. The second one is how to edit a photo in Photoshop 7.

If you have Photoshop Elements, it is very similar. It goes over all aspects of cropping and resizing as well as exporting to the proper format. You can view that tutorial here. I am new at the flash video of keystrokes but look forward to creating many more to help you in your blogging endeavors with WordPress! As always, feel free to contact me if you have any questions and concerns.

Awesome Photography Tips

If you have the need to show your work off to the world, I have found the most amazing website with terrific tutorials.  Kurtis is not only a very talented stamper but also photographer & webmaster. You can view his tutorials on photography for your website HERE.

If you are going to be posting images that include copyright images and/or uploading your work, you will want to embed the copyright information and your name and website.  You can view his ‘watermarking’ tutorials HERE. I have been inspired by his flash videos and hopefully (by the end of the year) will be adding my own video tutorials on working with WordPress on this site!

Put Symbols in your WordPress Post

Do you use terms that require ® symbols? They are easy to add! There are some short codes that you use that ‘open and close’ with an ampersand (&) and the semicolon (;). I will show the codes here with a space before the code and after it, so the sample does not convert to the symbol. Example: © ; = ©

& quot; = "

& bull; = •

& larr; = ?

& uarr; = ?

& rarr; = ?

& darr; = ?

& hArr; = ? (capital A makes double line)

& hearts; = ?

& diams; = ?

& Uuml; = Ü

& frac14 = ¼

& frac12 = ½

& frac34 = ¾

Not working?  Did you remember to take out the space between the & and the code?  Bet that fixes it!
