Holiday Extravagaza is Here!

Here is a free ‘sidebar widget’ for the Holiday Extravagaza sale!  Members login to get the sidebar code and also more graphics to blog with!

To the public (Stampin’ Up! Demos):  Right click and save the graphic holiday.jpg to your desktop.  You will need to import it into your Blogger or Typepad and then link it.  See code below for the link to the Specials page on the American & Canadian SU.com sites.  Of course you will replace the "yourdomain.com/images" with your own code. (For expert advice on Typepad & Blogger, see BlogsByHeather.com.)

Putting a Paypal button in a post (or page)

Yeah! The new version of WordPress is completely compatible with Paypal!  No more playing around with linking ‘email codes’.

**WARNING** If you put a paypal link in a post, it *will* not work for those who receive the post via email… they must go back to the post on the site.  It is a security issue with Paypal links in emails (they must be formatted differently to work in email).

So, with that, just go to Paypal and create your ‘buy now’ button. Cut the HTML code and switch over to WordPress.

Type your post (or page) and then switch to "Source" (see photo left for the button you are looking for*) and paste in the HTML code in and click ‘Save".   It will switch back to WYSIWYG view but the button won’t work until you publish it (you can however preview the page).

*This photo shows WordPress 2.6.3 with FCKeditor plugin (a standard plugin I include in your WordPress installation).

Holiday Gift Guide Sidebar Photo & Link

Great minds think alike!  This morning Michelle Laycock posted sidebar links to the Holiday Gift Guide by price, click here to get them.  I was working on a ‘one link’ to the main page of the Gift Guide but quit early last night… but here you go!

Members login for the code with photo and link already embedded (for Americans and Canadians).

NOTE:  The images copyright Stampin’ Up! is embedded in the image (in grey) as required for any photos taken from StampinUp.com.

For Stampin’ Up! demos (non-customers): Right click and save the photo and then upload to your own server. You will replace the yourdomain.com/images with the path to the web folder.

Gift Registry Button

Use this Gift Registry button on your siteI created this a few years ago for my own site (and then saw it pop up on other sites on the web, LOL).   So, now you can steal it with my blessings!

If you wish to add a gift registry to your site, you can try generating a form at Response-O-Matic.com and linking it to the button.  Of course the easiest way is to link it to a PDF they can send back.

Members can LOGIN and get the code for the Gift Registry so they don’t have to upload it.

NEW Photo editing/Watermark creation tutorials

I am very excited to say that due to popular demand, I have decided to look into a FREE photo editing package and was very surprised (and pleased) to say that I have found one that works on both Windows and Mac operating systems!

You can view the tutorials on my Support (Tutorials page) or refer to the links below:

The software is called Gimp (available at Gimp.org) and it is a very powerful editing package.
     For Windows:  DOWNLOAD here
     For Mac Users:
DOWNLOAD here

Here are two tutorials I have created (I did the tutorial using the Windows version):

Fantastico is up to 2.6.3

Fantastico (on my servers) is now up to 2.6.3 so you should go and upgrade!  If you need a refresher, you can refer to my page at Support >Tutorials or below are the links:

Since WordPress 2.7 is going to be a major change, I can’t stress how important it is to have made the incremental upgrades.  The longer you go between version upgrades, the more of a chance that there may be a problem.
